Key Responsibilities:

As a Certified Recovery Support Specialist, you will deliver exceptional, trauma-informed care and peer recovery assistance to individuals in need. Your role will involve active participation in clinical discussions to provide insights on client matters and collaborate on care strategies. You will also engage in outreach efforts and community-based peer initiatives.

Core Duties:

  • Offer peer recovery support services and advocacy for clients.
  • Collaborate with clinical personnel and treatment teams to aid clients in crafting recovery plans and addressing obstacles to their recovery objectives.
  • Complete necessary peer support documentation, including weekly and monthly reports, such as DLA-20.
  • Engage in discussions about recovery plans with clients and their families.
  • Identify recovery support requirements and connect individuals and families with suitable community resources.
  • Assist clients in managing crises and developing coping strategies.
  • Serve as a mentor and role model to clients, drawing from shared lived experiences.
  • Support clients in building empowerment skills and combating stigma through self-advocacy.
  • Provide educational resources on recovery for all stages of the recovery process, from initial engagement to sustained maintenance.
  • Document all interactions with clients in accordance with established guidelines.
  • Develop and promote ongoing community training opportunities.
  • Facilitate weekly peer support groups that encourage self-advocacy, allowing clients to express their views, share experiences, and communicate preferences.
  • Reach out to clients who miss scheduled clinical appointments to encourage re-engagement.
  • Assist in connecting clients with community recovery resources.
  • Recruit and lead recovery affinity groups under the guidance of the Director of Peer Support Programs.
  • Work collaboratively with program leadership, providers, and support staff to foster a culture that respects and values client perspectives and experiences.
  • Maintain strong ethical standards and professional boundaries.
  • Collaborate effectively with the treatment team to ensure comprehensive care.
  • Attend and participate in various meetings as required.
  • Complete all progress notes within a twenty-four (24) hour timeframe following service delivery.
  • Submit Peer Billing Logs weekly by the designated deadline.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
