BILINGUAL FAMILY SUPPORT SPECIALIST

Family Building Blocks, a dedicated non-profit organization, is in search of a Bilingual English/Spanish Family Support Specialist to join our team.

In this role, you will receive a competitive hourly wage ranging from $20.88 to $22.15, based on your experience. Additionally, bilingual employees will benefit from an extra rate for language proficiency. A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A FAMILY SUPPORT SPECIALIST

As a Family Support Specialist, you will deliver essential services to families in the community. Your work will involve visiting families in their homes to foster a nurturing environment, encourage healthy child development, and support overall family well-being. You will employ therapeutic home visiting techniques, including effective praise and reflective dialogue, to enhance parent-child relationships, improve parenting practices, teach problem-solving skills, and alleviate family stress. The Family Support Specialist will also assist parents in identifying and accessing community resources that align with their goals.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Associate's Degree in early childhood development or a related field, or a CDA Credential in Early Childhood Education, or a comparable credential (20 quarter credit hours) from an accredited institution focused on infant/toddler development, or an equivalent combination of training and coursework (ORO Step 8.5) in early childhood development with an emphasis on Early Childhood Education/Child Development, or two years of relevant teaching experience with some college-level coursework in ECE/Child Development.
  • A minimum of 6 months of relevant experience in social work, including demonstrated experience with infant/child development and at-risk families, as well as experience in parent education, home visiting, and/or child development settings.
  • Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license and a satisfactory driving record.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish.
