Position Overview:
Crisis Support Specialist (Part-time/On Call)
Location: Salem, OR
Job Status: Part-time/on call
Compensation: DOE, $19-22/hr.
Role Responsibilities:
Crisis Support Specialists are responsible for delivering 24/7 crisis intervention, suicide prevention, risk assessment, and brief supportive counseling via phone to clients experiencing emotional distress or suicidal thoughts. The Crisis and Information Hotline is the primary contact for all calls made to 988 in the region, providing essential after-hours support for various community partners. Key responsibilities include:
- Conducting crisis intervention and risk assessment screenings.
- Developing safety plans and providing follow-up support.
- Advocating for clients based on their assessed needs.
Qualifications:
- Associate's degree or currently enrolled in a BA/BS program focusing on psychology, social work, mental health, or behavioral sciences; BA/BS degree is highly preferred.
- A minimum of three years of relevant work, education, training, or experience.
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively within an integrated team.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, particularly in high-stress situations.
- Familiarity with Trauma-Informed Care models.
- Ability to engage in self-reflection.
