Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate individual to join our team as an Operations Support Specialist at the State of Oregon. This role is a critical part of our customer service team, providing support to Oregonians who are applying for various programs and services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide exceptional customer service to individuals and families seeking assistance with program applications and benefits.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure a welcoming and trauma-informed environment for all customers.
  • Assist with day-to-day operations of the office, including answering phone calls, responding to emails, and providing information on community resources.
  • Rotate tasks with team members to support business needs and ensure seamless service delivery.
Requirements
  • Two years of experience in customer-facing roles, preferably in a high-volume environment.
  • College-level courses may be substituted for experience on a year-for-year basis.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to adapt to diverse audiences.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment, with a focus on results and customer satisfaction.
  • Commitment to equity, inclusion, and racial justice, with a willingness to learn and grow in this area.
Working Conditions
  • Work schedule is 8:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m., Monday – Friday, on-site at the NE Salem office.
  • Experience constant contact with the public, including individuals experiencing emotional and financial stress.
  • High volume of computer work, using various software applications in a fast-paced team environment.
  • Priorities and procedures may change daily, requiring flexibility in application of procedures.
