Job Summary:

The Dining Room Supervisor at Garden Plaza at Post Falls is responsible for leading servers to deliver exceptional dining experiences with a hospitality focus. This role reports to the Dining Services Director and requires a high school diploma or equivalent, 2 years of experience as a server/hostess, and prior supervisory experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Dining Room Operations:
    • Set up the dining room to meet company hospitality standards, including proper linen, table settings, and supplies.
    • Plan, decorate, and assist with setup for fine dining programs.
    • Purchase flowers for the dining room and arrange them.
    • Ensure the dining room is at a comfortable temperature and lighting level for residents.
    • Conduct pre-meal menu review meetings with servers.
    • Assign stations and cleaning/prep work for servers.
    • Seat residents and visitors in a welcoming manner.
    • Pick up menus and assist residents who need help filling out menus.
    • Check for beverage refills in a timely manner.
    • Maintain hostess sheets and meal charges to ensure accurate meal counts are delivered to the business office.
    • Ensure food is served with proper serving techniques.
    • Prepare and deliver room service trays in a timely manner.
    • Direct and guide servers during meal service and clean-up.
    • Strip and reset tables as needed during serving times.
    • Remove soiled linens and place them in designated laundry areas.
    • Remove trash and keep the dining room clean, dry, and free of safety hazards.
    • Prepare for the next meal by cleaning tables, wiping out chairs, filling condiment containers, mopping, and sweeping.
    • Ensure servers follow established safety guidelines.
    • Assist servers with meal delivery as needed.
    • Oversee meal service for portions, temperature, and presentation in the absence of the Dining Services Director.
    • Work with the Dining Services Director to ensure communication and teamwork between kitchen staff and servers.
    • Work with the Dining Services Director and Sales Director to ensure flawless execution of contracted events.
    • Maintain a monthly calendar of special dining activities and meals.
    • Serve as hostess for special events.
  • Supervisory Responsibilities:
    • Assist the Dining Services Director with scheduling department hours.
    • Provide continuous, on-the-spot training and support for servers.
    • Serve as an effective role model.
    • Maintain an approachable management style.
  • Additional Requirements:

    • Maintain resident and guest relations through a courteous, cooperative, and understanding manner.
    • Demonstrate trustworthiness and dependability.
    • Work efficiently and effectively with little to no supervision.
    • Demonstrate effective communication skills.
    • Reasonably accommodate resident preferences in dining services.
    • Be able to receive and resolve complaints graciously.
    • Always be in proper attire and well-groomed.
    • Display integrity and professionalism by adhering to Garden Plaza at Post Falls' Code of Ethics and completing all required compliance training.
