POSITION SUMMARY:

Under the guidance of the Group Sales or Department Manager, the Team Supervisor provides daily leadership to the team members in one of the store's departments, focusing on areas such as product presentation, inventory management, pricing strategies, sales initiatives, restocking, and customer service operations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Assists the GSM / DM in reaching departmental objectives including Sales, Gross Margin, Inventory Control, and Payroll Management.
  • Offers daily guidance to team members within the department.
  • Creates task lists to streamline operations.
  • Implements all merchandising directives such as the “Top 25 list” and “Extreme Savings” items, ensuring compliance with Corporate guidelines.
  • Ensures a welcoming and efficient shopping experience for all customers.
  • Collaborates with the GSM / DM and Human Resources Manager to recruit service-oriented team members; participates in the interview process and provides input for hiring decisions; coordinates training; assists in performance evaluations; prepares weekly schedules; and fosters a positive, team-oriented environment.
  • Addresses customer and associate concerns in partnership with the GSM / DM and HR Manager.
  • Maintains exceptional personal customer service standards, achieving results that exceed company averages in customer satisfaction metrics.
  • Stays informed on product knowledge through ongoing training; conducts product demonstrations for the team.
  • Supports the GSM / DM in organizing all special events; ensures pricing accuracy and inventory integrity; determines appropriate product assortments; and oversees the display and pricing of promotional items.
  • Assists the GSM / DM in fulfilling supervisory duties in alignment with company policies and legal standards, including interviewing, training, planning, assigning tasks, evaluating performance, and resolving workplace issues while promoting a respectful work environment.
  • Delivers an exceptional experience for every customer by assisting them in their purchasing decisions through:
    • identifying and understanding customer needs,
    • making tailored product recommendations,
    • promoting programs such as CLUB Membership and In-Store Pick-up.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.
EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Minimum Education Required: High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience: 2 to 4 years in Retail Sales.
  • Supervisory experience is advantageous.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
  • Ability to perform calculations related to discounts, commissions, and percentages.
  • Ability to interpret and analyze various reports.
  • Ability to effectively communicate information and respond to inquiries from Managers, associates, customers, and the public.
  • Ability to conduct meetings and presentations for groups.
  • Proficiency in PC-based software for word processing, spreadsheets, and inventory management systems.
  • Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships with colleagues, customers, and corporate staff.

  • Occasionally drive vehicles or operate heavy equipment.
  • Light physical work, including moving objects up to 20 pounds regularly, and occasionally lifting up to 100 pounds with assistance.

INDEPENDENT JUDGMENT:
  • Performs tasks within the framework of company policies and objectives. Analyzes issues and conducts needs assessments. Exercises judgment in applying guidelines to achieve desired outcomes. Regularly uses independent judgment in accepted practices and makes recommendations affecting policies and procedures.
