Preferred CFO is a fractional CFO service provider delivering top-tier Finance, Accounting, HR, and Payroll solutions to dynamic and developing enterprises. We are looking for a Payroll Manager to collaborate with our diverse clientele. This role involves providing outsourced payroll services to multiple organizations concurrently. Engaging with various clients allows the Payroll Manager to gain extensive insights into different operational frameworks, leadership approaches, and industry best practices.

This position requires a commitment of 10-20 hours per week. Preferred CFO operates entirely remotely, having maintained a virtual workspace for over a decade. We offer a flexible and enjoyable work atmosphere. As a smaller firm, we do not provide traditional benefits, but you can explore available options for benefits independently.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee all elements of payroll administration, including data input, payroll computations, and disbursement of payments.
  • Ensure the precision and completeness of payroll documentation and reports.
  • Remain informed about pertinent laws and regulations related to payroll processing, taxation, and deductions.
  • Examine and reconcile payroll reports, encompassing payroll taxes, benefits, and deductions.
  • Collaborate with HR and Finance teams to guarantee the smooth integration of payroll information.
  • Address employee inquiries regarding payroll issues promptly and professionally.
  • Supervise the upkeep of employee payroll records and the confidentiality of sensitive data.
  • Formulate and execute payroll policies and procedures to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Guide and mentor payroll personnel to ensure they possess the necessary knowledge and skills.
  • Generate payroll-related reports for management as required.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in payroll administration.
  • Thorough understanding of payroll regulations, laws, and best practices.
  • Proficient in payroll software and MS Office, especially Excel.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Capacity to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation is preferred.
