Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the Administrative Support Assistant for the West Desert District.
  • Welcome visitors and provide essential information about programs, directing inquiries to the appropriate personnel as needed.
  • Manage incoming phone calls, identifying the nature of inquiries, responding to questions, or routing calls to the relevant staff.
  • Issue various permits including those for Christmas trees, wood, minerals, and recreation, along with selling maps and brochures.
  • Maintain accurate records of permits issued and sold.
  • Serve as a timekeeper and assist staff with time and attendance documentation within the automated payroll system.
  • Organize and maintain the central filing system, including official records, directives, and technical references.
  • Act as a collections officer, processing payments received via mail and in-person through the Bureau's Collections and Billings System.
  • Handle daily mail operations, including receiving, date-stamping, and distributing hardcopy correspondence.
  • Prepare, edit, and finalize official correspondence for supervisors and management.
  • Execute various administrative tasks utilizing word processing, spreadsheet, database management, and graphic software.
  • Perform clerical support duties such as photocopying, filing, and form typing.
