Position Overview:

We are currently seeking a Product Manager for our client based in San Francisco.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough investigations of new source systems for integration (including data models, business logic, APIs, etc.) and establish yourself as the primary subject matter expert on each. This role combines elements of product management, data analysis, and investigative research.
  • Define and structure new data models for our launches (including schemas, interrelations with other models, and standardization across multiple systems).
  • Create comprehensive documentation (such as runbooks and FAQs) that clarifies source systems, data models, and API functionalities for both internal teams and customer self-service.
  • Resolve ad hoc issues related to integrations and data models, assisting software engineers in debugging and troubleshooting errors, while ensuring customer launches and expansions proceed smoothly.
  • Build and maintain relationships with customers and partners, engaging in the entire process from sales demonstrations to requirement scoping, onboarding, and product roll-out.
  • Translate customer requirements into detailed product specifications for our software engineering teams.
  • Support the sales team during customer demonstrations, showcasing product capabilities, refining customer needs, and working towards securing their business.

Candidate Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree from a prestigious university
  • Startup Experience: Proven background in small (Seed/Series A/Series B) startup environments.
  • On-Site Work: Enthusiastic about working in-person in San Francisco five days a week.
  • 1 to 6 years of experience in software companies in roles related to data, product management, or technical analysis.
  • Strong Ownership and Conscientiousness: Capable of managing multiple tasks simultaneously without compromising quality.
  • Hands-On Approach: A proactive builder rather than a managerial figure.
  • Technical Acumen: At least one year of experience working closely with APIs, databases, SQL, Postman, and similar tools, though coding skills are not required.
  • Attention to Detail: A structured thinker who pays close attention to nuances, considers edge cases, and thoroughly tests work before completion.
  • Effective Communication: Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Proven Track Record: Consistently delivers results and completes tasks on time.
  • Customer Interaction: Comfortable engaging with a diverse range of customers, from software engineers at startups to CFOs at specialized contractors.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in customer interfacing (e.g., conducting user interviews, demonstrating SaaS products).
  • Experience in developing technical products (e.g., APIs, developer tools) in collaboration with software engineers and delivering products under tight deadlines.
  • Basic knowledge of accounting principles, as many use cases involve automating financial workflows.

Compensation: $110,000 - $160,000 base salary plus equity.
