Key Responsibilities

Peraton is in search of a skilled and enthusiastic Senior JAVA Software Engineer to assist in the architecture and creation of cloud-based SIGINT microservices. This role is crucial in supporting our mission for the Intelligence Community while providing hands-on experience with state-of-the-art development technologies.

Core Duties:
  • Design, integration, testing, deployment, and upkeep of cloud-centric software components.
  • Develop software to introduce new and prototype functionalities within a dynamic Agile environment.
  • Collaborate with end-user Analysts, Systems Engineers, and Software Developers to strategize, design, develop, and productize applications for intricate electronic data processing systems.
  • Technologies utilized include: Java, SpringBoot, HTML, CSS, JavaScript (ECMA Script)/Typescript, Swagger, Gradle, Docker, Kubernetes, and data analytics/GUI web tools for large-scale data.
  • Regularly engage with project managers and clients, necessitating strong communication skills and a collaborative spirit.
Qualifications

Essential Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related STEM field, with at least eight (8) years of professional software engineering experience. An additional four years of experience may substitute for a degree.
  • Proven experience in the development and maintenance of Java applications.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the software engineering life cycle, including analysis, design, development, debugging, deployment, and automated testing.
  • Possession of a Top Secret/SCI clearance with the capability to obtain a polygraph upon hiring.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Security+ Certification.
  • Experience with one or more of the following technologies: SpringBoot, HTML, CSS, JavaScript (ECMA Script)/Typescript, Swagger, Gradle, Docker, Kubernetes, and data analytics/GUI web tools for large-scale data.
  • Familiarity with tools such as AWS, Jenkins, Fortify, TestRail, Atlassian Tool Suite, Sonarqube, Kafka, RabbitMQ, and COPPER.
  • Knowledge of CM/build tools including Jenkins, Bitbucket, GIT, and Maven.
  • Experience working within Agile methodologies, including Scrum.
  • Innovative mindset with strong problem-solving and communication abilities.
  • Commitment to staying updated on industry trends and standards.
  • Capability to enhance and support software applications deployed in production environments.
