Position Overview

Peraton is in search of a dedicated and skilled senior Java Software Engineer to assist in the architecture and creation of cloud-based SIGINT microservices. This role involves contributing to critical missions for our Intelligence Community clients while engaging with advanced development technologies.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, integration, testing, deployment, and upkeep of cloud-centric software components.
  • Develop software to create new and prototype functionalities within a dynamic Agile environment.
  • Collaborate with end-user Analysts, Systems Engineers, and Software Developers to execute planning, design, development, and deployment of applications for intricate electronic data processing systems.
  • Utilize technologies including Java, SpringBoot, HTML, CSS, JavaScript (ECMA Script)/Typescript, Swagger, Gradle, Docker, and Kubernetes, along with data analytics and GUI web tools for large-scale data.
  • Regularly interface with project managers and clients, necessitating strong communication skills and a collaborative spirit.
Qualifications

Essential Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related STEM field, with at least eight (8) years of professional software engineering experience. An additional four years of experience may substitute for a degree.
  • Proven experience in software development and maintenance using Java.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the software engineering life cycle, including analysis, design, development, debugging, deployment, and automated testing.
  • Possession of a Top Secret/SCI clearance with the capability to obtain a polygraph upon employment.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Security+ Certification.
  • Experience with technologies such as SpringBoot, HTML, CSS, JavaScript (ECMA Script)/Typescript, Swagger, Gradle, Docker, Kubernetes, and data analytics/GUI web tools for large data.
  • Familiarity with tools like AWS, Jenkins, Fortify, TestRail, Atlassian Tool Suite, Sonarqube, Kafka, and RabbitMQ.
  • Knowledge of configuration management/build tools such as Jenkins, Bitbucket, GIT, and Maven.
  • Experience working within Agile methodologies, including Scrum.
  • Innovative mindset with strong problem-solving and communication abilities.
  • Ability to stay updated on industry trends and standards.
  • Capability to enhance and support software applications deployed in production environments.
