Position: Social Media Intern – The St. James Volleyball
The St. James is seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic Social Media Intern to manage and enhance the online presence of our Volleyball Department. This role is pivotal in promoting our various programs, leagues, teams, and tournaments through effective social media strategies.
As a Social Media Intern, you will be instrumental in elevating the visibility of our Volleyball initiatives and engaging with our community of athletes and their families. This internship offers a valuable opportunity to gain practical experience in sports marketing and social media management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and curate captivating content for our social media channels, including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and TikTok.
- Create a content calendar to ensure regular postings and timely promotion of events, tryouts, and essential updates.
- Engage with our audience by monitoring and responding to comments, messages, and mentions, thereby fostering a supportive online community.
- Collaborate with coaching staff and athletes to collect content, such as photos, videos, and interviews.
- Assist in designing and implementing social media campaigns aimed at increasing awareness and participation in our programs.
- Evaluate social media performance metrics and compile reports to track progress and identify areas for enhancement.
- Stay informed about the latest trends and best practices in social media and sports marketing.
Qualifications:
- A passion for and understanding of volleyball is advantageous.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Creative thinker with the ability to generate innovative ideas.
- Familiarity with social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and TikTok.
- Basic understanding of social media analytics and reporting tools.
- Skills in photography and video editing are a plus.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
- Currently pursuing a degree in marketing, communications, or a related field is preferred but not mandatory.
- Proficient in using technology and software for program management, scheduling, and communication.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required by program schedules.
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hiring).
- A commitment to promoting volleyball and fostering an inclusive environment for all participants.
