Currently, we are seeking a dedicated and career-focused Corporate Communications Specialist to enhance our operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and execute internal and external communication strategies for the Department of Energy (DOE).
  • Proactively develop and implement marketing initiatives.
  • Identify and engage potential users and user groups to enhance communication processes.
  • Provide informed recommendations for message development, communication methods, and timing.
  • Research, compose, edit, and disseminate various communication materials (e.g., print, digital, briefings).
  • Collaborate with graphic designers, briefing developers, and other essential personnel to create impactful publications and communications.
  • Prepare content for internal distribution.
  • Oversee and manage production timelines.
  • Innovate new communication strategies to effectively reach target audiences.
  • Support senior leadership by crafting speeches, talking points, video scripts, communication plans, and articles for publication.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of experience in communications, journalism, public relations, marketing, or a related field (or 15+ years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree).
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or Journalism.
  • Basic understanding of the Department of Defense (DoD).
  • Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving abilities, along with proficiency in MS Office applications.
  • Experience with graphic design tools and techniques.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced experience with graphic design tools and techniques.
  • Master's degree in communications, journalism, public relations, or marketing.

Security Clearance Requirements:

  • Active TS/SCI security clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain a polygraph.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to remain stationary for 50% of the time.
  • Occasional mobility within the office for meetings and in-person interactions.
  • Effective communication with colleagues, management, and clients, including delivering presentations.
  • Proficient in operating a computer keyboard and other office equipment.
