Geotechnical Area Engineer

Your Impact at RCG Moody International:
  • Deliver geotechnical engineering expertise across various project types, including transportation, infrastructure, large-scale developments, and environmental projects.
  • Conduct independent evaluations using established geotechnical engineering methods, making necessary adjustments as required.
  • Interpret and make informed decisions based on laboratory and field test results, project conditions, and inspections.
  • Draft and review geotechnical reports in accordance with project specifications.
  • Delegate tasks and responsibilities to team members as needed.
  • Utilize both local and remote teams to complete assignments and foster employee development.
  • Prepare project scopes, budgets, and timelines for task assignments.
  • Collaborate with the Principal Consultant and/or Chief Engineer on project recommendations.
  • Build and maintain client relationships while identifying new project opportunities.
  • Participate in client meetings on-site.
  • Ensure effective communication with clients and project teams, attending meetings as necessary.
  • Provide training and mentorship to junior technical staff.
  • Conduct on-site inspections and observations as required.
  • Adhere to safety protocols to ensure personal and team safety at all times.
Qualifications for Success:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an accredited institution AND a Master's Degree in Geotechnical Engineering are mandatory.
  • A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience is essential.
  • Possession of a Texas P.E. License is required or the ability to obtain it in the state of employment and neighboring states.
  • Proficiency in geotechnical analysis software such as GeoStudio, APILE, LPILE, GROUP, SHAFT, Plaxis, Midas, SLIDE, Settle3D, and MSEW.
  • Achieve Principal Consultant status internally (5 years of experience in CS/8 years in Geo).
  • Strong communication skills (written, verbal, and listening) along with excellent interpersonal abilities are essential.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with teams across various locations.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours and overtime as necessary.
