Position Summary
WSP is excited to announce an opportunity for a Vice President of Geotechnical Engineering. Join our dynamic Geotechnical & Tunneling Team and take on a pivotal leadership role within a thriving organization dedicated to delivering exceptional solutions for our clients.
Your Contributions
- Lead a team of geotechnical and tunneling engineers, overseeing project management, budget tracking, task delegation, and cross-disciplinary coordination.
- Drive business development initiatives by contributing to proposal creation and cost estimation, while identifying opportunities for growth.
- Conduct advanced geotechnical engineering tasks, including design for tunneling projects, subsurface investigations, and soil foundation analysis, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and regulations.
- Guide the collection and analysis of data from various sources, including soil and water samples, surveys, and geotechnical data, to support project development and execution.
- Utilize high-level engineering techniques to enhance various phases of infrastructure projects, from concept to operation.
- Prepare comprehensive construction plans, specifications, and cost estimates, ensuring effective coordination with stakeholders.
- Engage with regulatory bodies, subcontractors, and clients in a professional manner to facilitate project success.
Essential Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering with a focus on Geotechnical Engineering.
- Over 10 years of relevant experience in engineering and geotechnical design.
- Registered Professional Engineer in Texas.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated expertise in Texas geotechnical practices and geology.
- Experience with TxDOT, renewable energy projects, and Design Build methodologies.
- Proficient in geotechnical project planning, design, and documentation.
- Commitment to ethical decision-making and adherence to company policies.
- Strong focus on workplace safety and compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new techniques and processes.
- Master's Degree in Engineering.
- Completion of 40-Hour OSHA Health & Safety Training (HAZWOPER) preferred.
- Basic First Aid and Adult CPR certification is a plus.
