Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Food Services Team Lead to join our team at Uhmchealth. As a Food Services Team Lead, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our food service department, ensuring that we provide high-quality meals to our patients and staff.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise food service workers, room service ambassadors, and call center representatives to ensure timely and efficient meal services to all patient areas.
  • Respond to customer and guest concerns in person and via email, providing excellent customer service and resolving issues in a timely manner.
  • Direct, monitor, and participate in the overall sanitation and safety of the department and employees, ensuring compliance with company standards and regulatory agencies.
  • Assist in the preparation of work schedules and participate in the performance evaluations and competencies of all employees.
  • Train new employees and ensure consistent training of current staff on policies, procedures, and equipment.
  • Notify management of any food shortages and equipment breakdowns, taking appropriate corrective action as needed.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree in Nutrition, Hotel/Restaurant/Hospitality, or Culinary preferred.
  • Certified Dietary Manager or a Nutrition/Dietetic Technician preferred.
  • At least 3 years of food service management experience, preferably in a high-volume restaurant, hospital, hotel, or room service environment.
  • Food Service Manager certification required within the 1st year of employment.
  • Dietetic Technician, Registered (DTR) or certification as a Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bilingual.
  • Math, reasoning, and organizational skills.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Intermediate computer skills, knowledge of Outlook, Excel, and Word.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents, such as safety rules, equipment operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to safely operate all kitchen equipment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, ability to work with a culturally diverse workforce.
  • Critical thinking skills.
