Position: Lead Geotechnical Engineer

Impactful Responsibilities:
  • Deliver geotechnical engineering expertise for transportation and commercial projects
  • Conduct independent evaluations utilizing established methodologies and criteria, applying engineering judgment for necessary adjustments
  • Make informed decisions and recommendations based on test results and project conditions
  • Draft and assess geotechnical reports in accordance with project specifications
  • Delegate tasks to team members as required
  • Develop scopes, budgets, and timelines for assigned tasks
  • Collaborate with Principal Consultant on project recommendations
  • Maintain and cultivate client relationships while identifying new project opportunities
  • Participate in client meetings on-site
  • Facilitate effective communication with clients and project teams
  • Provide training and mentorship to technical staff
  • Conduct on-site inspections and observations as necessary
  • Adhere to safety protocols to ensure personal and team safety
Qualifications for Success:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited institution AND a Master's degree in Geotechnical Engineering are mandatory
  • Minimum of 15 years of relevant industry experience is essential, with a strong preference for experience with Department of Transportation projects
  • Possession of a Texas P.E. License or the ability to obtain reciprocity swiftly is required
  • Proficiency in software such as GeoStudio, LPILE, GROUP, SHAFT, Plaxis, SLIDE, Settle3D, and MSEW
  • Ability to achieve Principal Consultant status internally (5 years of experience in Civil/8 years in Geotechnical)
  • Strong communication skills (written, verbal, and listening) along with excellent interpersonal abilities are necessary
  • Candidates must demonstrate exceptional communication skills and the capacity to collaborate with teams across various locations
  • A valid driver's license and a clean driving record are required
  • Willingness to work flexible hours and overtime as needed
