Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Category Leader, Senior to join our team at Rose International. This is a critical role that requires a strong understanding of procurement strategies and category management principles.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage top-tier suppliers and maintain awareness of industry and market trends through ongoing research.
  • Lead the development of category strategies for low to medium complexity categories.
  • Lead cross-functional teams through strategic sourcing processes and develop/execute negotiation strategies for low to medium complexity spend categories.
  • Develop and review performance data with suppliers, working with them to drive ongoing value discovery.
  • Conduct and document market research and supplier risk analysis to verify the financial health of existing and potential suppliers.
  • Create and maintain category plans, developing and sustaining mutually beneficial strategic relationships with tier 1 and 2 suppliers.
  • Develop and manage one or more sourcing spend categories and manage all Tier 1 contracts associated with the category(ies).
  • Develop strategic category plans to optimize cost savings, service excellence, diversity spend, and total cost of ownership for the categories.
  • Effectively influence LOBs, including senior leadership, to achieve understanding, acceptance, and commitment of sourcing strategies.
  • Work with Line of Business (LOB) to develop, source, and negotiate major contracts.
  • Play a key role in Supplier Relationship Management/Scorecard process.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience in supply chain or related field.
  • 6+ years of experience in procurement or related field.
  • ISM-Institute for Supply Management CPSM-Certified Professional in Supply Management certification.
  • LSS-Lean Six Sigma Certification.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently with limited oversight.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Products.
  • Competency in relating openly and comfortably with diverse groups of people.
  • Competency in building partnerships and working collaboratively with others to meet shared objectives.
  • Competency in building strong-identity teams that apply their diverse skills and perspectives to achieve common goals.
  • Knowledge of the technical/functional aspects of the trade, occupation, or role.
  • Knowledge of database and information systems.
