Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement a comprehensive external relations and communications strategy that aligns with the University's goals and objectives.
- Lead a team of professionals in developing and executing strategic communications plans, including media relations, public affairs, and crisis communications.
- Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including government officials, alumni, donors, and the media.
- Oversee the development and implementation of marketing campaigns to promote the University's brand and initiatives.
- Collaborate with senior leaders to advance the University's legislative and communications priorities.
- Monitor and analyze issues affecting higher education and develop strategies to address them.
- Provide strategic counsel to the President and other senior leaders on external relations and communications matters.
- 10+ years of experience in communications, public affairs, or a related field.
- Proven track record of developing and implementing successful external relations and communications strategies.
- Strong leadership and management skills, with experience leading a team of professionals.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders.
- Ability to think strategically and develop innovative solutions to complex problems.
- Knowledge of the higher education landscape and the ability to navigate complex issues.
