Key Responsibilities

Project Oversight: The Project Engineer will manage and supervise a variety of projects within the chemical facility, ensuring timely completion, adherence to scope, and budget compliance. This role requires collaboration with multiple departments and disciplines, including engineering, production, safety, and procurement, to guarantee smooth project execution. The ideal candidate will possess a robust background in mechanical engineering, experience in project management, and a comprehensive understanding of the capital project lifecycle.

Core Duties Include:
  • Project Planning and Coordination:
    • Transform business goals into capital project objectives.
    • Create detailed project plans encompassing scope, objectives, timelines, budgets, and resources.
    • Oversee all project phases, from initiation and planning to execution, monitoring, and closure.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to clarify project requirements and deliverables.
    • Manage third-party engineering and construction contractors.
  • Financial and Resource Management:
    • Track project budgets, monitor expenses, and ensure cost-effective solutions.
    • Effectively allocate resources, ensuring project teams have the necessary tools and personnel.
    • Provide accurate monthly financial forecasts.
  • Risk Assessment:
    • Identify potential risks and formulate mitigation strategies.
    • Monitor project risks and implement contingency plans as necessary.
  • Quality Control:
    • Ensure compliance of all project activities with industry standards, regulations, and company policies.
    • Conduct regular quality audits and reviews to confirm project deliverables meet required specifications.
  • Stakeholder Engagement:
    • Maintain consistent communication with stakeholders, including senior management, project teams, and external partners.
    • Provide regular updates on project progress, challenges, and solutions.
  • Documentation and Reporting:
    • Maintain thorough project documentation, including plans, schedules, budgets, and progress reports.
    • Prepare and present detailed reports on project status, performance metrics, and outcomes.
Preferred Qualifications

Education: A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering from an accredited institution is required.

Certifications: Professional Engineering and/or Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is highly preferred.

Experience: A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in engineering and project management is required.
  • Self-motivated and proactive.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent teamwork abilities and capacity to collaborate across business functions.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently and meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and capacity to make informed decisions under pressure.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to sit, stand, or walk for extended periods.
