Key Responsibilities
Project Oversight: The Project Engineer will supervise and direct a variety of projects within the chemical facility, ensuring timely completion, adherence to scope, and budget compliance. This position requires collaboration with various departments and disciplines, including engineering, production, safety, and procurement, to facilitate smooth project execution. The ideal candidate will possess a robust background in mechanical engineering, experience in project management, and a comprehensive understanding of the capital project lifecycle.
Main Duties Include:
- Project Planning and Execution:
- Transform business goals into capital project objectives.
- Create comprehensive project plans detailing scope, objectives, timelines, budgets, and resources.
- Oversee all project phases, from initiation and planning to execution, monitoring, and closure.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to establish project requirements and deliverables.
- Manage third-party engineering and construction contractors.
- Financial and Resource Management:
- Track project budgets, monitor expenses, and ensure cost-effective solutions.
- Efficiently allocate resources, ensuring project teams have the necessary tools and personnel.
- Provide accurate monthly financial forecasts.
- Risk Assessment:
- Identify potential risks and formulate mitigation strategies.
- Monitor project risks and implement contingency plans as necessary.
- Quality Control:
- Ensure compliance of all project activities with industry standards, regulations, and company policies.
- Conduct regular quality audits and reviews to verify that project deliverables meet required specifications.
- Stakeholder Engagement:
- Maintain consistent communication with stakeholders, including senior management, project teams, and external partners.
- Provide regular updates on project progress, challenges, and solutions.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain thorough project documentation, including plans, schedules, budgets, and progress reports.
- Prepare and present detailed reports on project status, performance metrics, and outcomes.
Education: A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering from an accredited institution is required.
Certifications: Professional Engineering and/or Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is highly desirable.
Experience: A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in engineering and project management is required.
