Work Schedule: 9/80 schedule with the option for remote work on Fridays

About the Opportunity:

We are in search of a skilled and driven Project Engineer to become part of our team. The main focus of this role is to successfully execute capital projects from initial development through detailed design and construction phases, encompassing procurement, budget management, and timeline oversight.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Execution: Responsible for delivering assigned projects within budget and timeline constraints while upholding safety standards.
  • Engineering Management: Supervise engineering activities with on-site design teams or local engineering firms.
  • Team Leadership: Direct a diverse project team composed of facility personnel and contractors.
  • Project Assurance: Oversee and coordinate Project Assurance and Technical Assurance efforts.
  • Change Management: Ensure effective management of change processes and pre-startup safety reviews.

Role Scope:

  • Project Portfolio: Manage a portfolio of 7 to 12 simultaneous projects, each with competing priorities across various execution stages.
  • Financial Overview:
  • Portfolio value under $75 million
  • Average project size below $10 million
  • No more than one project exceeding $40 million
  • Average annual expenditure under $20 million

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Communication Skills: Strong communication abilities with a focus on customer satisfaction.
  • Leadership Qualities: Proven leadership and mentoring skills, with a commitment to continuous learning.
  • Educational Background: Degree in Engineering or a related technical field.
  • Project Management Expertise: Proficient project management skills; familiar with GSAP/SAP systems.
  • Professional Experience:
  • At least 4 years of full-time experience as a project engineer or project manager
  • A minimum of 8 years of diverse experience in refining and/or petrochemical sectors, including projects, maintenance, and turnarounds.

  • Collaboration: Ability to work effectively with various teams within the organization, including Business Opportunity Managers, Project Engineers/Managers, Technologists, Discipline Engineers, subject matter experts, Business stakeholders, and external partners.
  • Leadership & Communication: Exceptional communication and leadership skills in multi-disciplinary environments. Effective coaching and facilitation capabilities.
  • Problem-Solving: Innovative problem-solver with substantial change management experience.
  • Resilience: Ability to maintain composure under pressure; skilled in influencing and conveying challenging messages while seeking mutually beneficial solutions during conflicts.
