Key Responsibilities

Project Oversight: The Project Engineer will lead and manage a variety of projects within the chemical facility, ensuring timely completion, adherence to scope, and budget compliance. This position requires collaboration with multiple departments and disciplines, including engineering, production, safety, and procurement, to facilitate smooth project execution. The ideal candidate will possess a robust background in mechanical engineering, experience in project management, and a comprehensive understanding of the capital project lifecycle.

Core Duties Include:
  • Project Planning and Execution:
    • Convert business goals into capital project objectives.
    • Create comprehensive project plans detailing scope, objectives, timelines, budgets, and resources.
    • Oversee all project phases from initiation and planning to execution, monitoring, and closure.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to establish project requirements and deliverables.
    • Manage third-party engineering and construction contractors.
  • Financial and Resource Management:
    • Track project budgets, monitor expenses, and ensure cost-effective solutions.
    • Effectively allocate resources to ensure project teams have the necessary tools and personnel.
    • Provide accurate monthly financial forecasts.
  • Risk Assessment:
    • Identify potential risks and formulate mitigation strategies.
    • Monitor project risks and implement contingency plans as necessary.
  • Quality Control:
    • Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and company policies throughout all project activities.
    • Conduct regular quality audits and reviews to confirm project deliverables meet specified requirements.
  • Stakeholder Engagement:
    • Maintain consistent communication with stakeholders, including senior management, project teams, and external partners.
    • Provide regular updates on project progress, challenges, and solutions.
  • Documentation and Reporting:
    • Maintain thorough project documentation, including plans, schedules, budgets, and progress reports.
    • Prepare and present detailed reports on project status, performance metrics, and outcomes.
Qualifications

Education: A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering from an accredited institution is required.

Certifications: Professional Engineering and/or Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is highly preferred.

Experience: A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in engineering and project management is required.
