Project Engineer

What You'll Be Doing
Job Scope: The Project Engineer will oversee and manage various projects within the chemical plant, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and within budget. This role involves coordinating with multiple departments and disciplines, including engineering, production, safety, and procurement, to ensure seamless project execution. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical engineering, project management experience, and a thorough understanding of capital project life cycle.
Primary responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
- Project Planning and Management:
- Translate business objectives into the capital project objectives.
- Develop detailed project plans, including scope, objectives, schedules, budgets, and resources.
- Manage all phases of projects, from initiation and planning through execution, monitoring, and closure.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to define project requirements and deliverables.
- Management of 3rd party engineering and construction contractors
- Budget and Resource Management:
- Monitor project budgets, track expenses, and ensure cost-effective solutions.
- Allocate resources effectively, ensuring that project teams have the necessary tools and personnel.
- Provide accurate monthly forecasts.
- Risk Management:
- Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies.
- Monitor project risks and implement contingency plans as needed.
- Quality Assurance:
- Ensure that all project activities comply with industry standards, regulations, and company policies.
- Conduct regular quality audits and reviews to ensure project deliverables meet the required specifications.
- Stakeholder Communication:
- Maintain regular communication with stakeholders, including senior management, project teams, and external partners.
- Provide regular updates on project progress, challenges, and solutions.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including plans, schedules, budgets, and progress reports.
- Prepare and present detailed reports on project status, performance metrics, and outcomes.
Education: Bachelor or Master of Science degree in Engineering from an accredited university is required.
Registration: Professional Engineering and/or Project Management Professional (PMP) registration is highly preferred.
Experience: This position requires 3+ years of relevant experience in engineering and project management.
