Role Responsibilities: As a Child Reunification Coordinator, you will:

  • Establish and maintain direct communication with unaccompanied child refugees and their families during their time in care.
  • Work collaboratively with program staff to provide updates on reunification progress.
  • Facilitate the safe release of minors to designated family members or authorized caregivers.
  • Document services provided in each child's case file accurately.
  • Report significant incidents following established policies and procedures.
  • Conduct initial intake assessments to verify information and identify family connections.
  • Serve as a liaison between minors, sponsors, and staff to ensure effective communication.
  • Assist sponsors in completing necessary documentation and forms.
  • Maintain regular contact with minors and their families through meetings and calls.
  • Refer minors to additional services as needed, ensuring their well-being.
  • Participate in case discussions and training sessions as part of the care team.
  • Handle crisis situations with compassion and decisiveness.
  • Support a diverse clientele, including refugees and minority families.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with MVM personnel and social service agencies.
  • Utilize technology effectively for data entry and case management.
  • Work independently in the field while maintaining confidentiality.
  • Assist in vetting sponsors nationwide.

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in social work or a related field.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in case management or reunification services.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish.
  • Experience in call center environments is preferred.
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed.
  • Must pass a background check and possess a valid driver's license.

Work Environment: This position requires participation in a comprehensive training program, including both online and in-person sessions. Travel is a mandatory aspect of the role, with assignments potentially extending beyond 30 days. Responsibilities may shift based on client needs, and administrative support tasks will be expected as required.

Physical Demands: The role involves mobility for meetings, typing, and prolonged periods of sitting. Candidates must be able to manage various physical tasks as necessary.
