This position is part of the Family, Maternal, and Child Health (FMCH) Program, which is committed to enhancing the health and welfare of families and children through innovative collaborations with families, community stakeholders, county programs, and community-based organizations.

To achieve this goal, our efforts include gathering and analyzing data to pinpoint critical needs, designing, executing, and assessing programs aimed at improving health outcomes, and offering training and technical support to various groups throughout the county on perinatal health issues.

Additionally, we provide specially trained interpreters to facilitate communication between patients and healthcare providers in their preferred language during care provision, appointment scheduling, and discussions regarding healthcare information or billing.

In this role, you will oversee and coordinate the activities of subordinate staff.

Analytical Responsibilities:
You will be tasked with managing, compiling, and analyzing data.
Providing supervision, technical support, and consultation to program staff
Establishing, reviewing, evaluating, implementing, and interpreting program policies to ensure adherence to State and Federal mandates
Identifying urgent needs for program services and making suitable referrals
Collaborating with other professionals and community organizations
Acting as a liaison with funding authorities and/or division fiscal staff regarding financial matters
Crafting and writing proposals for grant applications
Planning, executing, and/or supervising educational outreach initiatives and creating program informational materials for distribution to schools, organizations, community groups, and the general public
Maintaining open communication between staff and management.
Evaluating information, propositions, and claims with a critical and logical approach
Meeting organizational objectives and customer expectations while making decisions that yield high-quality results through technical knowledge, problem analysis, and risk assessment

Candidates must possess a Master's degree from an accredited institution in Health Care Administration, Public Health, Nursing, Health Education, Social Welfare, or a closely related field.


Experience Requirements:

One (1) year of full-time or equivalent experience in a healthcare organization, public health agency, or community program performing administrative or program management duties.

A Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in any of the aforementioned fields and two (2) years of full-time experience in a healthcare organization, public health agency, or community program performing administrative or program management duties may substitute for the master's degree requirement.

One (1) additional year of experience of the type noted above may be substituted for the required academic major. No substitution is permitted for a bachelor's degree.

Successful candidates for some positions may require clearance from the State Office of AIDS prior to a permanent appointment.

Candidates for specific programs must meet established criteria as Skilled Professional Medical Personnel (SPMP).

This includes:
a) Registered Nurses and Public Health Nurses with a valid certificate from the State of California; c) Registered Dietitians with a valid registration from the American Dietetic Association; d) individuals possessing either a master's degree in Social Welfare (MSW) with an emphasis in medical or a master's degree in Public Health (MPH) with an emphasis in health education; and f) Licensed Marriage, Family and Child Counselors
Candidates in the Senior Nutrition program must maintain a current registration as a Dietitian with the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics throughout their employment.
Candidates in the Women, Infants and Children (WIC) program must also maintain a current registration as a Dietitian with the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics throughout their employment.

Application Process:
All applicants will be required to complete a supplemental questionnaire at the time of application. Applications will be assessed to determine which candidates will advance in the recruitment process.

Candidates demonstrating the minimum qualifications will be invited to participate in a behavioral consistency writing exercise.

These competencies may include but are not limited to:

The Behavioral Consistency Questionnaire will be administered remotely using a computer or mobile device.

Candidates will need access to a reliable internet connection to complete the assessment, as well as a device with a camera.

Following a conditional job offer, candidates will undergo fingerprinting, and their fingerprints will be submitted to the California Department of Justice (DOJ) and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).

All Contra Costa County employees are designated Disaster Service Workers and are required to complete all related training as assigned, returning to work as ordered in emergencies.
