POSITION SUMMARY:

The EHR Systems Analyst plays a crucial role in the planning, analysis, design, and modification of electronic health record (EHR) software applications and their integrations. This position involves coding, testing, debugging, and installing software modules to facilitate effective implementation. The analyst will engage with users to understand existing operational procedures and clarify program objectives. Additionally, they will document the development process, including logic, coding, and any necessary corrections.

This role requires a high degree of independence and may involve leading specific project teams. The EHR Systems Analyst will tackle complex technical and business challenges, necessitating a minimum of five years of relevant experience.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and provide training materials, handouts, and instructional/reference documents for staff.
  • Offer daily support and troubleshooting for EHR systems.
  • Stay informed about applications, integrations, and healthcare operational needs.
  • Observe workflow practices to identify opportunities for process enhancements.
  • Work collaboratively with leadership and staff to translate clinical needs into EHR specifications.
  • Manage general system configurations within the EHR.
  • Ensure security roles are appropriately assigned, in collaboration with Clinical and IT departments.
  • Assess team requests for system improvements and enhancements.
  • Analyze business functions to determine operational objectives and requirements.
  • Enhance systems and processes through research and design modifications.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders and IT personnel.
  • Maintain system protocols and recommend improvements.
  • Ensure compliance with information confidentiality standards.
  • Prepare technical reports by gathering and analyzing data.
  • Test new features and assist in system update implementations.
  • Conduct thorough user acceptance testing on system enhancements.
  • Coordinate testing outcomes with clinical and finance teams.
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with department heads and technical resources.

ADDITIONAL DUTIES:

  • Enhance professional knowledge through ongoing education and networking.
  • Contribute to team success by achieving related goals.
  • Perform other assigned tasks as necessary.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • At least three years of recent experience managing EHR systems.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Health Information Systems or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience collaborating with nursing and support departments in a healthcare environment.
  • Familiarity with various roles within healthcare settings as they relate to EHR systems.
  • Experience with SQL query development and data reporting is preferred.
  • Previous nursing experience is advantageous.
  • Current knowledge of project management principles and software.
  • Strong understanding of business software and automation trends.
  • Proficient in technical documentation.
  • Knowledge of data privacy practices is essential.
  • Basic skills in computer hardware/software, including MS Office.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage technical interruptions with appropriate responses.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills, adaptable to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong documentation and collaboration skills.
  • Self-motivated with the capacity to work independently.
  • Ability to quickly adapt to changes and manage stress effectively.
  • Proficient in reading, writing, and understanding English instructions.
