Job Overview

The PeopleSoft Systems Integration and Batch Operations Analyst is responsible for engaging in various business systems analysis and production support activities. This role entails providing high-level operational and batch support for ELM, HCM, and FSCM applications. The batch processing responsibilities encompass utilizing PeopleSoft Process Scheduler, BMC Control-M scheduling systems, and GlobalScape secured transmission (sFTP) system.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Align business workflows with the configuration, rules, and batch processing related to ELM, HCM, and FSCM applications.
  • Establish and execute application and scheduling system configuration parameters.
  • Evaluate the viability of and formulate requirements for systems, batch processes, and enhancements to current or new systems; ensure that system designs meet user needs.
  • Identify opportunities for enhancing business processes through automation, minimizing manual tasks, and improving productivity while reducing human errors.
  • Facilitate Integration Orchestration to enable seamless adaptation and integration of new tools and systems.
  • Collect business requirements and conduct fit/gap analysis on new and modified batch processes.
  • May involve installation and enhancement of software; programming, testing, debugging, and implementing new or modified programs.
  • Provide consultation on application analysis; troubleshoot system issues and implement solutions.
  • Recognize, manage, and escalate issues and risks throughout the software development lifecycle.
  • Conduct system analysis and potentially engage in programming activities for complex systems; document new and modified systems and programs; coordinate user training on new functionalities.
  • Collaborate with interconnecting departments and external vendors to ascertain system needs and requirements.
  • Assist clients in preparing service requests for system modifications; assess effort levels and costs for implementing service requests; prioritize requests accordingly.
  • Deliver technical production support for online and batch systems; assist in scheduling processing; update and generate reports.
  • Coordinate with external vendors and contractors to complete projects and service requests; define, assign, and evaluate their work.
  • May involve determining database structures; normalizing data; converting data between platforms; designing, developing, and generating routine and ad hoc reports based on user requirements.
  • Establish security levels for systems to maintain data integrity; test database applications to ensure functionality and effectiveness according to specifications.
  • Research and assess software across multiple platforms; assist in developing evaluation criteria for software.
  • Determine operational characteristics and requirements; develop or modify and document general system/process designs; write detailed design specifications; conduct 'walkthroughs' for proposed solutions to system challenges.
  • Maintain up-to-date functional and technical documentation.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Education:

An associate degree in business administration, public administration, information systems, economics, finance, computer science, or a closely related field from an accredited institution, or its equivalent in terms of total course credits/units.

Experience:

A minimum of three (3) years in the information systems domain, including system analysis, business process design, development, and implementation of business application solutions or IT project management.

Desirable Qualifications:

The following desirable qualifications will be utilized to identify job finalists at the conclusion of the selection process:

  • Proficient knowledge of job scheduling systems, such as BMC's Control-M.
  • Understanding of PeopleSoft HCM and/or FSCM module functionalities, fit/gap analysis, customization, and testing strategies.
  • Technical design and development experience with PeopleSoft Development Tools (PeopleTools 8.5x, Application Designer, PeopleCode, SQR, Process Scheduler, and PeopleSoft Query).
  • Professional IS Business Analyst experience in the Public Sector (Government or Nonprofit).
  • Familiarity with Tier-1 ERP systems.
  • Advanced functional and technical skills in various PeopleSoft modules, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, purchasing, services contracting, construction contracting, and/or supplier management in a large government or highly regulated environment.
  • Experience in developing reports and metrics to document production support activities and enhance production efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Demonstrated experience in preparing and maintaining user training materials; conducting online user training sessions and presentations.
