Key Responsibilities

As an Engineer/Senior Engineering Technician, you will be responsible for delivering engineering and technical support to the NAVSEA 05V Ship Design Manager and the PMS 312D PARM Assistant Program Manager (APM). Your primary duties will include:

  • Conducting technical evaluations of Navy drawings related to aircraft carriers.
  • Collaborating with engineering and design teams to identify and implement necessary modifications.
  • Ensuring adherence to quality standards and specifications.
  • Resolving field issues and conflicts effectively.
  • Managing a range of projects from minor repairs to advanced construction tasks.
Qualifications

Education: A Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (preferably Structural or Mechanical) or a related technical field from an accredited institution, or a minimum of ten years of hands-on experience in engineering.

Military Experience: Highly preferred, particularly in aircraft carrier maintenance and modernization.

Certifications

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel), Access, Visio, and Outlook. Familiarity with Computer Aided Design (CAD) software is also required.

Experience

A minimum of ten years of progressive experience in managing complex engineering or technical projects is essential. The ability to work collaboratively with geographically dispersed teams is critical.

Functional Responsibilities

You will assist the NAVSEA 05V Ship Design Manager in formulating and executing policies and procedures aimed at identifying and rectifying technical drawing data associated with the NIMITZ Class aircraft carrier program. Your role will involve:

  • Developing project plans to ensure timely completion of tasks.
  • Monitoring the readiness and completion of assigned work.
  • Preparing program documents, briefings, and analytical presentations.
  • Providing critical data support for project planning and scheduling.
Additional Requirements
  • Security Clearance: Eligibility to obtain Secret clearance is required.
  • Citizenship: Proof of U.S. Citizenship is mandatory due to the technical nature of the work.
Work Environment

This position entails both office and shipboard environments, requiring compliance with various safety and environmental regulations. Physical demands may include climbing stairs and ladders, as well as prolonged standing.

Complexity and Supervision

The role involves managing complex data and requires the ability to work independently with minimal supervision while coordinating efforts with senior government and military officials.
