Position Overview

The National Security Sector of 00100 LEIDOS, INC. offers a remarkable opportunity for a Senior Engineering Technician. This role involves overseeing a specific product line within the Navy Array Technical Support Center (NATSC). The successful candidate will act as the line supervisor, ensuring efficient operations on the repair or assembly line while adhering to quality standards and production schedules.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and evaluate activities on the repair line, ensuring optimal resource utilization and compliance with work instructions.
  • Provide mentorship and training to junior technicians, fostering their professional development.
  • Assist in forecasting repair line progress and make informed recommendations regarding line loading.
  • Represent the product line in regular production meetings, addressing any operational concerns.
  • Review technical documents, including drawings and work instructions, to identify discrepancies and recommend corrective actions.
  • Draft work-around procedures to maintain system readiness during technical evaluations.
  • Conduct complex assignments, planning and executing projects of limited scope or contributing to larger initiatives.
  • Analyze technical data to resolve design challenges, selecting appropriate layouts and preparing detailed specifications.
  • Determine testing requirements and procedures, conducting tests with various instruments and preparing comprehensive reports on findings.
  • Collaborate with personnel in related fields to resolve issues and integrate technical efforts.

Basic Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in electronics repair or a related technical field.
  • Proven experience in supervising and training technicians in operational procedures and company policies.
  • Familiarity with CMPro document control systems.
  • Experience with NATSC Depot Application (NDA) and Towed Array Management System (TAMS).
  • Proficient in performing electronic repairs at the component level, adhering to documented quality standards.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DOD secret level clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree from a technical institution is advantageous.
  • In-depth knowledge of Solid State Heading Sensors.
  • Completion of soldering training, including SMT/SMD.
  • Operational experience with industrial equipment, including sand blasting and PLC-controlled systems.
  • Proficient in standard computer operations, Microsoft Office, and programming software.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with sound judgment and initiative.

This position is governed by the Service Contract Act and offers a competitive hourly wage.
