This role entails ensuring the effective functioning and upkeep of fire sprinkler systems. Key responsibilities include conducting inspections, performing tests, and executing system evaluations. The foreman will play a pivotal role in leading small teams on client sites.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine preventive maintenance on fire sprinkler systems.
  • Conduct servicing and inspections of wet, dry, and pre-action systems.
  • Examine, maintain, repair, or replace fire sprinkler apparatus and systems in strict compliance with relevant codes and standards.
  • Engage with clients in a professional and mature manner.
  • Provide advanced technical support to team members and clients as necessary.
  • Instruct trade skills to developing apprentices/helpers.
  • Complete comprehensive inspection reports, documenting any issues and reporting results of work performed in a precise and timely manner.
  • Safeguard and maintain company equipment.
  • Inspect and maintain the vehicle and all associated equipment, submitting repair requests as needed to ensure safe operation.
  • Operate warehouse machinery, including vehicles, to facilitate the loading and unloading of the truck while adhering to all safety regulations and manufacturer’s safety guidelines.
  • Work safely in accordance with company safety protocols, including driver safety and personal protective equipment.
  • Respond to emergency service requests.
  • Maintain a tidy and secure work environment.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience with fire sprinkler systems is preferred.
  • In-depth knowledge of NFPA 13 and NFPA 25.
  • Experience with both commercial and residential systems.
  • Proficient in operating sprinkler trade tools, including but not limited to impact wrenches, band saws, measuring devices, fitting take-outs, manual lifting devices, grooving machines, threading machines, and powered industrial lifting devices.
  • Strong troubleshooting abilities.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively as well as independently.
  • A clean driving record and a valid driver’s license are required.
  • Flexibility with scheduling is necessary, as it may occasionally involve evening, weekend, and/or out-of-town assignments.
  • Ability to assume a leadership role.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Comply with the Code of Conduct, Confidentiality Agreement, and Company Safety Policy.
  • Carry out other duties as assigned.

Physical Demands:

  • While performing the essential functions of this position, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to manipulate objects, reach with hands or arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and may occasionally lift and/or move heavy items.
  • This role also necessitates the following physical capabilities: balancing, climbing, grasping, hearing, mental acuity, pulling, pushing, repetitive motion, speaking, and visual acuity.
