About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Fire Sprinkler System Specialist to join our team at Pye-Barker Fire & Safety. As a Fire Sprinkler System Specialist, you will be responsible for the proper operation, maintenance, and repair of fire sprinkler systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct routine preventative maintenance on fire sprinkler systems to ensure they are functioning properly and safely.
- Service and inspect wet, dry, and pre-action systems to identify any potential issues or defects.
- Inspect, maintain, repair, or replace fire sprinkler equipment and systems in accordance with applicable codes and standards.
- Interact with customers in a professional and courteous manner to provide excellent customer service.
- Provide advanced technical assistance to team members and customers as needed.
- Teach trade skills to advancing apprentices/helpers to ensure they have the necessary knowledge and skills to perform their job duties.
- Complete detailed inspection reports documenting any issues or defects and report results of work completed in a timely manner.
- Protect and maintain company equipment and vehicles to ensure they are in good working condition.
- Inspect and maintain warehouse equipment, including vehicles, to ensure safe operation.
- Work in a safe manner as outlined by company safety procedures, including driver safety and personal protective equipment.
- Respond to emergency service calls to provide prompt and effective service to customers.
- Maintain a clean and safe workspace to ensure a healthy and productive work environment.
Requirements:
- At least 5 years of experience with fire sprinkler systems, preferably in a commercial or residential setting.
- Advanced working knowledge of NFPA 13 and NFPA 25 codes and standards.
- Experience with commercial and residential fire sprinkler systems, including wet, dry, and pre-action systems.
- Skilled operation of sprinkler trade equipment, including impact wrenches, band saws, measuring devices, fitting take-outs, manual lifting devices, grooving machines, threading machines, and powered industrial lifting devices.
- Troubleshooting skills to identify and resolve issues with fire sprinkler systems.
- Good interpersonal skills to work effectively in a team environment and with customers.
- A clean driving record and valid driver's license.
- Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including evenings, weekends, and out-of-town assignments.
- Ability to act in a lead capacity to oversee work on customer sites.
