This role is crucial for ensuring the effective functioning and upkeep of fire sprinkler systems. Key responsibilities encompass the inspection, testing, and conducting thorough system evaluations. The foreman will take charge of small teams, typically comprising 2-3 members, overseeing operations at various client locations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine preventive maintenance on fire sprinkler systems.
  • Conduct servicing and inspections of wet, dry, and pre-action systems.
  • Examine, maintain, repair, or replace fire sprinkler equipment and systems in strict compliance with relevant codes and standards.
  • Engage with clients in a professional and mature manner.
  • Provide advanced technical support to team members and clients as necessary.
  • Instruct apprentices and helpers in trade skills.
  • Complete comprehensive inspection reports, documenting any issues and reporting work results accurately and promptly.
  • Safeguard and maintain company equipment.
  • Inspect and maintain the service vehicle and all associated equipment, submitting repair requests as needed to ensure safe operation.
  • Operate warehouse equipment, including vehicles, to facilitate the loading and unloading of the service vehicle while adhering to all safety regulations and manufacturer’s safety guidelines.
  • Work safely according to company safety protocols, including driver safety and personal protective equipment.
  • Respond to emergency service requests.
  • Maintain a tidy and safe work environment.
  • Carry out additional tasks as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience with fire sprinkler systems is preferred.
  • In-depth knowledge of NFPA 13 and NFPA 25.
  • Experience with both commercial and residential systems.
  • Proficient in operating sprinkler trade equipment, including impact wrenches, band saws, measuring devices, and more.
  • Strong troubleshooting abilities.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, capable of working collaboratively as well as independently.
  • Must possess a clean driving record and a valid driver’s license.
  • Flexibility with scheduling, including potential evening, weekend, and out-of-town assignments.
  • Ability to take on a leadership role.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Comply with the Code of Conduct, Confidentiality Agreement, and Company Safety Policy.
  • Perform other duties as directed.

Physical Demands:

  • This position requires the employee to regularly stand, walk, use hands for handling or feeling, reach with hands or arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and occasionally lift or move heavy objects.
  • The role also necessitates physical abilities such as balancing, climbing, grasping, hearing, mental acuity, pulling, pushing, repetitive motion, speaking, and visual acuity.
