This role entails ensuring the effective functioning and upkeep of fire sprinkler systems. Key responsibilities include conducting inspections, performing tests, and executing system evaluations. The foreman will take charge of small teams on-site, overseeing operations and ensuring compliance with safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine preventive maintenance on fire sprinkler systems.
  • Conduct servicing and inspections of various system types, including wet, dry, and pre-action systems.
  • Inspect, maintain, repair, or replace fire sprinkler equipment and systems in strict adherence to relevant codes and standards.
  • Engage with clients in a professional and respectful manner.
  • Provide advanced technical support to team members and clients as required.
  • Mentor and train apprentices and helpers in trade skills.
  • Prepare comprehensive inspection reports, documenting issues and results in a timely manner.
  • Safeguard and maintain company tools and equipment.
  • Oversee the maintenance of vehicles and equipment, submitting repair requests as necessary.
  • Operate warehouse machinery and vehicles safely, ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
  • Adhere to safety protocols as outlined by company policies, including personal protective equipment requirements.
  • Respond to emergency service requests as needed.
  • Maintain a tidy and secure work environment.
  • Carry out additional tasks as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience with fire sprinkler systems is preferred.
  • In-depth knowledge of NFPA 13 and NFPA 25 standards.
  • Experience with both commercial and residential fire protection systems.
  • Proficient in using sprinkler trade tools and equipment, including impact wrenches, band saws, and threading machines.
  • Strong troubleshooting abilities.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, capable of working collaboratively and independently.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Flexibility in scheduling, including potential evening, weekend, and out-of-town assignments.
  • Ability to lead and manage a team effectively.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Comply with the Code of Conduct, Confidentiality Agreement, and Company Safety Policy.
  • Perform other duties as directed.

Physical Requirements:

  • Regularly required to stand, walk, use hands for handling, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and occasionally lift heavy objects.
  • Must possess physical abilities such as balancing, climbing, grasping, hearing, mental acuity, pulling, pushing, repetitive motion, speaking, and visual acuity.
