Key Responsibilities
  • Engage in various tasks related to receiving, managing, labeling, preparing, showcasing, and sustaining the inventory of resale products.
  • Regularly operate forklifts and may involve order writing tasks at the discretion of store management.
  • Assess shelf space allocation for diverse items within a department and project space needs for new products or increased quantities.
  • Receive supplies, equipment, and various categories of resale items in the designated receiving area.
  • Verify incoming shipments by reviewing shipping documents, making necessary annotations, and identifying any visible spoilage, damage, overages, or shortages.
  • Utilize a computerized system for pricing, calculating costs, and determining weights of merchandise.

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain clearance eligibility based on the appropriate background investigation.
  • May be subject to a probationary/trial period.
  • Direct deposit of pay is mandatory.
  • Must meet the physical requirements outlined in the Qualifications section.
Qualifications

Applicants must fulfill qualifications and requirements by the closing date. According to the OPM Qualification System for Trades and Labor Occupations, the manner in which you acquired the skills and/or knowledge or the duration of your experience in this field is less critical than your capability to effectively perform the duties of this position. Your resume should detail your specific knowledge, skills, and abilities in relation to the job requirements.

Examples of qualifying experience include:
  • Recognizing stock turnover, shelf space allocation, and customer preferences.
  • Ensuring proper care and handling of grocery resale items.
  • Assisting customers in locating items.
  • Rotating stock, stacking containers, and participating in inventory processes.
  • Operating electric, diesel, or gasoline-powered forklifts.
  • Arranging stock on shelves and in displays.
All relevant qualifying experience will be credited, including volunteer work through National Service programs and other organizations.

Physical Requirements: (1) Ability to stand, stoop, kneel, bend, and climb for extended periods. (2) Frequently lift or move heavy boxes or crates weighing up to 50 pounds or more.
