Environmental Project Manager

Position Overview: Gpac is in search of a driven Environmental Project Manager with over 5 years of relevant experience and a bachelor’s degree in geology, engineering, or a related scientific field. The successful candidate will possess a solid understanding of project management principles and demonstrate the capability to manage multiple, technically precise, timely, and budget-conscious project tasks. This role is classified as mid-level to Senior Project Management based on qualifications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • The Environmental Project Manager will supervise field operations related to Michigan Part 213, including the collection of soil, groundwater, soil gas, and indoor air samples.
  • Exhibit proficiency in preparing Part 213 UST/LUST Initial Assessment Reports (IARs), Final Assessment Reports (FARs), and Closure Reports.
  • Demonstrate experience in conducting Phase II Environmental Site Assessments (ESA), Baseline Environmental Assessments (BEA), and Due Diligence Compliance Check/Remediation Action Plans (DDCC/ResAP).
  • Engage with regulatory bodies such as EGLE and EPA, as well as local authorities.
  • Oversee client and project communications, manage scheduling, control costs, handle change orders, and prepare management reports.
  • Assist in drafting proposal scopes and estimating project costs.
  • Prepare and review relevant technical documentation.
  • Conduct sampling of various environmental media and prepare samples for laboratory analysis.
  • Document and oversee field activities, maintaining communication with team members, clients, and subcontractors.
  • Possess strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively.
  • Perform diverse tasks to fulfill project requirements with a proactive attitude.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in conducting Michigan Part 213 fieldwork, including sampling techniques for soil, groundwater, soil gas, and indoor air.
  • Proven ability to complete Part 213 UST/LUST Initial Assessment Reports, Final Assessment Reports, and Closure Reports.
  • Experience with Phase II ESA, BEA, and DDCC/ResAP.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • A valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Willingness to work outdoors and perform physical tasks regularly.
