The School is in search of a dedicated Financial Transactions Specialist to enhance our expanding team. This role will be integral to the Business Office, reporting directly to the Accounts Receivable Manager. The primary focus will be on the accurate and timely processing of student payments while ensuring a reliable check and balance on daily cash inflows. Exceptional customer service is crucial, as this position involves collection efforts and providing assistance to students regarding inquiries such as account balances, payment options, and more.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Process daily student payments (cash, checks, credit cards) including those received through the School's online portal and record them in the Accounts Receivable (AR) system.
  2. Address various student inquiries (in-person, email, or phone) and guide them to the appropriate department when necessary.
  3. Prepare and balance the cash drawer at the start and end of each day.
  4. Reconcile all cash receipts at the end of the day with the AR posting report to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  5. Settle daily credit card transactions.
  6. Handle student check request forms, including refund requests for canceled enrollments, overpayments, and application fee waivers.
  7. Support the AR Team in initiating collection communications with students who are behind on their payment plans.
  8. Compile a weekly report of cash receipts for the CFO.
  9. Collaborate with other departments (Admissions, Registrar, Financial Aid) regarding application fees, refunds, and registrations.
  10. Distribute stipend checks to students weekly and follow up on any returned or unclaimed checks.
  11. Assist in Open House events once a month.
  12. Support various administrative tasks as needed, including filing and certified mailings.

Job Requirements:

  • Minimum of an Associate's Degree.
  • 1-3 years of experience in a corporate setting with hands-on cash management experience.
  • Outstanding customer service abilities.
  • Basic proficiency in computer applications (Excel, Word, basic spreadsheets).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to changes and pressures in the workplace.
  • Team-oriented mindset.
