Nights; with rotating weekends and holidays
Your Role:
The Medical Laboratory Scientist is responsible for conducting various laboratory tests in designated areas as per licensure and certification. This role involves analytical testing of blood and other human biological specimens, requiring a solid understanding of both theoretical and practical knowledge in the relevant fields.
Key Responsibilities:
- Execute pre-analytical tasks related to laboratory testing, including equipment maintenance, inventory management, and specimen processing.
- Conduct all required tests and analytical procedures accurately and efficiently, adhering to established protocols and performance standards.
- Participate in proficiency testing, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations as well as institutional policies.
- Manage post-analytical activities, reporting results in accordance with established guidelines.
- Provide technical support and training to new employees and medical technology students, documenting their orientation and training progress.
- Offer guidance to laboratory technicians and support staff, addressing customer service issues and providing educational support to clinical staff as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in medical technology, clinical laboratory sciences, or a related field.
- Certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist or Medical Technologist (e.g., ASCP, AAB, AMT) as per state requirements.
- Preferred: Two years of clinical laboratory experience.
