Work Schedule:
Full-Time
Shift:
Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM, with rotating weekends and holidays.

  • We boast one of the largest Emergency Departments and cardiac catheterization labs in the nation.
  • Our hospital provides exceptional service to over 32,000 inpatients and 125,000 outpatients annually.

Your Role:
The Medical Laboratory Scientist II is responsible for executing a variety of laboratory procedures in designated areas, as per licensure and certification. This role typically involves analytical testing of blood and other human biological samples, requiring a solid understanding of both theoretical and practical aspects of laboratory science. Depending on the department, the role may also include various pre- and post-analytical tasks, with potential on-call responsibilities. Adherence to laboratory policies and quality control measures is essential, as is a commitment to providing outstanding customer service and fostering respectful relationships.

Qualifications Required:
  • Licensure in relevant specialties as mandated by state regulations, or national certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist or Medical Technologist (e.g., ASCP, AAB, AMT).
  • Bachelor's degree in medical technology, clinical laboratory science, or related fields.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Two years of relevant technical experience.
  • Proficiency in laboratory testing procedures and compliance with regulations.
  • Ability to work independently and manage shifting priorities.
  • Competence in training new staff and maintaining accurate records.

Your Contributions:
As a Medical Laboratory Scientist II, you will:
  • Conduct pre-analytical activities, including equipment maintenance and specimen processing.
  • Perform all required tests and analytical procedures with accuracy and efficiency.
  • Provide training and orientation to new employees and students.
  • Support the team in resolving customer service issues and enhancing workflow.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and participate in performance improvement initiatives.
