Position Overview
As a key member of the engineering team at Saronic, you will be responsible for tackling challenges associated with composite materials, developing innovative solutions through various manufacturing techniques.

Key Responsibilities
- Analyze and resolve issues related to composite materials, employing advanced fabrication methods including layup techniques and resin infusion.
- Define optimal lamination schedules for composite components, ensuring the integrity of structures throughout the production process.
- Lead product development initiatives, overseeing projects from design through implementation, while providing regular updates and addressing any challenges to management.

- Assess designs for potential weaknesses specific to composite structures and propose modifications to enhance performance.
- Adhere to all regulatory standards while maintaining organizational values in engineering practices.

- Create detailed assembly layouts and drawings, actively participating in the manufacturing or assembly of prototype systems.

- Design and execute experiments to validate the properties and performance of composite materials, utilizing data to guide design improvements.

- Conduct tolerance studies, apply GD&T principles, perform stress analysis, develop reliability testing protocols, and compile comprehensive design verification reports.

- Collaborate with quality assurance and tooling teams to establish conformance standards.
- Work alongside the production team to identify suppliers, scope capital equipment, and facilitate the engineering transfer of tooling.

- Develop and implement testing methodologies to evaluate product capabilities, addressing any mechanical or structural issues in composite components.

- Ensure that design execution, testing, and maintenance processes align with company quality standards.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline; a Master's degree is preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in mechanical, structural, automotive, aerospace, or chemical engineering, particularly in composite materials and systems.

- Demonstrated experience throughout the product development lifecycle, from concept to implementation and testing.
- Proficient in analytical tools such as ANSYS, Matlab, Rhino, Creo, or SOLIDWORKS, with a focus on composite applications.

- Strong understanding of core engineering principles, including mechanics, materials science, and fluid dynamics as they pertain to composite design.
- Proficient in CAD systems, including CAM and CAE tools, for creating detailed drawings and simulations.

- Experience in aerospace or maritime engineering is highly desirable, particularly with composite structures.
- Background in Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) simulation is advantageous for assessing composite system performance.

- Excellent problem-solving abilities and a collaborative mindset in a dynamic work environment.
- Strong communication skills, capable of conveying complex engineering concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
