Role Summary

The Senior Vice President of the CoMET Department at HVJ Associates plays a pivotal role in aligning departmental operations with the overarching goals of the organization. The incumbent will be responsible for nurturing client relationships, overseeing human resources, and spearheading business development initiatives while ensuring operational excellence across the CoMET department.

Key Responsibilities

  • Direct the allocation of staff assignments to fulfill client service requirements effectively.
  • Collaborate with department heads to secure additional resources as necessary.
  • Assist in crafting project proposals and capability statements.
  • Contribute to the firm’s strategic vision through business development and client engagement.
  • Ensure stakeholder satisfaction through proactive communication and service delivery.
  • Monitor financial performance of the CoMET department to maintain budgetary compliance.
  • Drive the company’s vision by implementing service line communication and development strategies.
  • Project CoMET performance against annual objectives and initiatives.
  • Guarantee adherence to quality assurance protocols as outlined in the Quality Assurance Manual.
  • Disseminate technical, administrative, and financial updates to team members as required.
  • Prepare and approve technical and cost proposals.
  • Formulate an annual business development plan for the CoMET sector.
  • Address conflicts and grievances in a fair and just manner.
  • Assess the performance of unit staff and provide constructive feedback.
  • Recommend staffing changes, including promotions and new hires, in line with company policies.
  • Implement disciplinary measures when necessary, adhering to the Employee Manual.

Qualifications

A Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, coupled with a minimum of 10 years of direct experience in Geotechnical and Construction Materials Engineering, along with a Professional Engineer (PE) License. A combination of relevant experience and education may be considered for exceptional candidates.
