Senior Manager, Technical Revenue and Accounting Operations

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Manager to lead our Technical Revenue and Accounting Operations team at Western Digital Capital. As a key member of our Accounting and Finance team, you will be responsible for managing the global process for technical revenue and key accounting operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Revenue Recognition and Accounting: Manage the end-to-end accounting, business, and system processes in compliance with revenue recognition guidance (ASC 606) and analyze and report revenue for the Company.
  • Technical Research and Analysis: Manage technical research and analysis for significant revenue arrangements and write technical memos supporting the accounting position.
  • Revenue Results Analysis: Analyze monthly and quarterly revenue results for accuracy and completeness and communicate the results to the executive leadership team.
  • Internal and External Audits: Act as the key contact for internal and external auditors, and cross-functional teams regarding gross to net revenue.
  • Process Improvement: Review processes on an ongoing basis and implement improvements.
  • System Functionality: Collaborate with IT and other stakeholders to modify and implement functionality improvements to system reports and processes.
  • Legacy System Harmonization: Lead the harmonization of various processes amongst the legacy systems.
  • SOX Controls and PBC Requests: Approve and review SOX controls and internal and external PBC requests.
  • Team Leadership: Coach and provide guidance to a team of 3-4 senior analysts.
Requirements
  • Experience: Minimum 8 years of experience in accounting and revenue roles in high-tech or similar industries.
  • Revenue Transactions: Experience with revenue transactions with distributor and OEM customers within the semiconductor industry a plus.
  • Advanced Excel Skills: Advanced Excel skills and analytics aptitude required.
  • SAP and Oracle Cloud: Experience in SAP and Oracle Cloud environments a plus. Fundamental knowledge of ASC 606.
  • US GAAP and Revenue Recognition: Proficient knowledge of US GAAP and revenue recognition fundamentals.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, CPA or MBA preferred. Big 4 experience a plus.
