Reporting directly to the Director of Revenue Operations, this role involves overseeing a team and managing the worldwide processes related to technical revenue and essential accounting operations at Western Digital. In this pivotal leadership position, you will work closely with cross-functional teams globally to ensure adherence to revenue recognition standards (ASC-606) and offer corporate guidance on revenue recognition policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the comprehensive accounting, business, and system processes in alignment with revenue recognition standards (ASC 606) while analyzing and reporting revenue for the organization.
  • Conduct technical research and analysis for significant revenue agreements and draft technical memoranda to support the accounting stance.
  • Evaluate monthly and quarterly revenue outcomes for accuracy and completeness, communicating findings to the executive leadership team.
  • Serve as the primary liaison for internal and external auditors, as well as cross-functional teams regarding gross to net revenue.
  • Continuously review processes and implement enhancements.
  • Collaborate with IT and other stakeholders to modify and implement improvements to system reports and processes.
  • Lead the integration of various processes across legacy systems.
  • Approve and review SOX controls and internal and external PBC requests.
  • Mentor and provide guidance to a team of 3-4 senior analysts.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • At least 8 years of experience in accounting and revenue roles within high-tech or related sectors.
  • Experience with revenue transactions involving distributors and OEM customers in the semiconductor industry is advantageous.
  • Proficient in advanced Excel skills and possess strong analytical capabilities.
  • Familiarity with SAP and Oracle Cloud environments is a plus, along with a fundamental understanding of ASC 606.
  • Solid knowledge of US GAAP and revenue recognition principles.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA or MBA preferred. Experience with Big 4 firms is a plus.
