Position: Brewery Sales Consultant

We are seeking a committed Brewery Sales Consultant to represent our brand effectively. The ideal candidate will be based in the Chicago area.

Note: This role is primarily field-based, necessitating residency within the assigned territory to engage with clients directly.

The Brewery Sales Consultant will work autonomously to focus on acquiring new clients and nurturing existing relationships within the beverage industry. A significant emphasis is placed on improving product availability and visibility in both new and established accounts through strategic sales techniques.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Promoting the full range of products from the Boston Beer Company (BBC)
  • Devoting full attention to selling products and/or broadening the product offerings in retail establishments (such as bars, restaurants, liquor stores, grocery stores, or convenience stores)
  • Identifying potential key accounts that do not currently stock BBC products and developing a plan to engage these accounts
  • Enhancing the presentation and status of accounts by creating displays, reorganizing coolers, and showcasing point-of-sale materials to elevate brand recognition
  • Collaborating with distributors to ensure timely orders, product deliveries, and successful business operations at accounts
  • Conducting training sessions for staff, beer tastings, and promotional events
  • Expect a dynamic work environment due to the customer-facing nature of the role
  • Willingness to work weekends and holidays as needed to meet business demands
  • Occasional travel for meetings and training sessions
  • Regular travel within the market to service retailers and wholesalers

Qualifications:

Minimum Requirements:

  • At least 1 year of proven experience in external sales or the food & beverage industry
  • A strong competitive drive along with a confident and assertive personality
  • Possession of a valid driver's license, a registered and insured vehicle, and the ability to travel frequently to and from accounts
  • Capability to lift and transport cases of beer regularly
  • Ability to climb, kneel, and bend to arrange and display point-of-sale materials frequently

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree

Compensation:

In accordance with pay transparency laws, the salary range for this position is $45,900 - $67,820 annually, depending on location and the candidate's experience. This role also includes eligibility for an annual performance-based bonus influenced by individual and company performance. Certain sales positions may qualify for a car allowance.
