The Information Systems and Cyber Division (ISCD) integrates cutting-edge information system technologies, including elastic compute clouds, containerization, microservices, real-time operating systems, and visualization frameworks, with proficiency in cybersecurity, software architecture, software engineering, data science, artificial intelligence, process enhancement, and software development. This enables us to deliver agile, resilient, and high-performance software-intensive systems to our intelligence community, Department of Defense, and civilian clientele.

Position Overview

As an Engineering Specialist or Senior Engineering Specialist within the C3 Engineering and Operations Department, you will focus on applying these technologies to provide operationally-driven engineering solutions for space enterprise C3 systems, missions, and processes. Responsibilities include:

  • Delivering C2 planning and course of action (COA) development expertise aligned with current Joint Warfighting Concepts and Adaptive Planning processes.
  • Utilizing strategic guidance to inform and synchronize planning efforts with Space Test and Training Command (STARCOM) and Space Force.
  • Offering C2 planning expertise for training initiatives, ensuring key adversary performance considerations are integrated.
  • Designing and advocating for optimized C2 frameworks and data processes to enhance US Space Command and US Space Force capabilities.
  • Supporting rapid prototyping strategies aligned with critical priorities through technical, operational, and risk assessments.
  • Collaborating across space mission and program boundaries to identify shared challenges and risks, providing enterprise-level recommendations.
  • Acting as a C2 subject matter expert within multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Contributing technical insights on space prototype/system readiness review teams, offering unbiased assessments to decision-makers.
  • Engaging effectively with internal and external partners in integrated product teams.
  • Communicating technical issues, analysis reports, and recommendations clearly to customers and management.

Qualifications for Success – Engineering Specialist

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, mathematics, or a technical science from an accredited institution.
  • A minimum of 8 years of relevant experience, including a background as a space operator.
  • Experience in space-related command and control, operational planning, or battle management.
  • Familiarity with operating or developing BMC2 systems.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Active Secret security clearance; eligibility for Top Secret SCI and SAP/SAR.
  • Willingness to travel approximately 20%.

Additional Requirements for Senior Engineering Specialist

  • At least 12 years of relevant career experience.
  • A demonstrated combination of operational, technical, and leadership expertise.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree in engineering, mathematics, or a technical science from a recognized institution.
  • Experience in leading or integrating modeling and simulation capabilities for training and exercise events.
  • Weapons School graduate status.
  • Joint Planning experience with a Combatant Command J3/5 or Joint Staff J3/5.
  • Certification in agile, project management, or a related field.
  • Experience across various mission areas, including electronic warfare, space domain awareness, ISR, C2, SATCOM, PNT, and missile warning.
  • Familiarity with agile methodologies, MBSE, digital engineering, or related disciplines.
  • Active Top Secret security clearance with SCI access and/or SAP/SAR access.
