The Information Systems and Cyber Division (ISCD) integrates cutting-edge information system technologies, including elastic compute clouds, containerization, microservices, real-time operating systems, and visualization frameworks, with proficiency in cybersecurity, software architecture, software engineering, data science, artificial intelligence, process enhancement, and software development. Position Overview

We are seeking an Engineering Specialist or Senior Engineering Specialist (focused on Engineering Program Management and Systems Engineering) within the C3 Engineering and Operations Department. This role emphasizes the application of advanced technologies, where the Command, Control, and Communications (C3) Engineering & Operations Department (CEOD) personnel deliver operationally-oriented engineering solutions for space enterprise C3 systems, missions, and processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Delivering C2 planning and course of action (COA) development expertise aligned with current Joint Warfighting Concept, Adaptive Planning, and Joint Targeting processes.
  • Utilizing strategic directives to inform and synchronize Space Test and Training Command (STARCOM) and Space Force planning.
  • Providing C2 planning expertise on the train-the-trainer side for Delta 11, ensuring aggressors account for critical adversary performance that the Space Operations Center needs to comprehend and address.
  • Designing and advocating for optimized C2 frameworks and data processes for US Space Command and US Space Force capabilities.
  • Supporting rapid prototyping strategies aligned with the Chief of Space Operations priorities through technical, operational, and risk assessments.
  • Collaborating across space mission and program boundaries to identify shared program challenges and risks, offering enterprise recommendations, and driving issues to resolution.
  • Acting as a C2 subject matter expert within multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Contributing as a key technical resource on space prototype/system readiness review teams, providing unbiased technical evaluations to decision-makers.
  • Engaging effectively with internal and external partners in integrated product teams, including government, industry, and FFRDC members.
  • Communicating technical issues, analysis reports, and recommendations to customers and management in a timely manner.

Qualifications for Engineering Specialist

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in engineering, mathematics, or a technical discipline.
  • A minimum of 8 years of relevant experience, including a background as a space operator.
  • Experience in space-related command and control, operational planning, or battle management.
  • Familiarity with operating or developing BMC2 systems.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Active Secret security clearance; eligibility for Top Secret SCI and SAP/SAR.
  • Willingness to travel approximately 20%.

Additional Qualifications for Senior Engineering Specialist

  • At least 12 years of relevant experience.
  • A demonstrated combination of operational, technical, and leadership experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree from an accredited institution in engineering, mathematics, or a technical field.
  • Experience in leading and/or integrating modeling and simulation capabilities for live and virtual training and exercise events.
  • Weapons School graduate.
  • Joint Planning experience with a Combatant Command J3/5 or Joint Staff J3/5.
  • Certification in agile, project management, or a related field.
  • Experience across various mission areas, including electronic warfare (EW), space domain awareness (SDA), intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR), command and control (C2), satellite communications (SATCOM), position, navigation, and timing (PNT), and missile warning tracking.
  • Familiarity with agile methodologies, Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), digital engineering, or related disciplines.
  • Active Top Secret security clearance with SCI access and/or SAP/SAR access.
