The Aerospace Corporation is seeking a highly skilled Operational Command and Control Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our C3 Engineering and Operations Department, you will be responsible for providing operationally-focused engineering solutions for space enterprise C3 systems, missions, and processes.
Key Responsibilities- Provide C2 planning and course of action (COA) development expertise in accordance with current Joint Warfighting Concept, Adaptive Planning and Joint Targeting processes.
- Utilize strategic guidance and objectives to help inform and synchronize Space Test and Training Command (STARCOM) and Space Force planning.
- Provide C2 planning expertise on the train-the-trainer side for Delta 11, helping aggressors account for key adversary performance that SpOC needs to understand and overcome.
- Design and advocate for optimized C2 constructs and data processes for US Space Command and US Space Force capabilities.
- Support rapid prototyping strategies aligned to the CSO priorities by providing technical, operational, and risk assessments.
- Work across space mission and program boundaries to identify common program challenges and risks, provide enterprise recommendations, and lead issues to closure.
- Serve as a C2 subject matter expert on multi-disciplinary teams.
- Serve as a key technical contributor on space prototype/system readiness review teams and provide impartial technical assessments to decision authorities.
- Work closely and effectively with internal and external partners in integrated product teams that include government, industry, FFRDC members, and collaboration across Aerospace.
- Communicate effectively with customers and management through timely reporting of technical issues, analysis reports, and recommendations.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, mathematics, or technical science from a recognized institution.
- 8 years of relevant career experience, including background as a space operator.
- Experience in space-relevant command and control, operational planning, or battle management.
- Experience with operating or developing BMC2 systems.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Active Secret security clearance; eligible for Top Secret SCI and SAP/SAR.
- Willing to travel approximately 20%.
- Advanced degree in engineering, mathematics, or technical science from a recognized institution.
- Experience leading and/or integrating modeling and simulation capabilities to support live & virtual training & exercise events.
- Weapons School graduate.
- Joint Planning experience with a Combatant Command J3/5 or Joint Staff J3/5.
- Certified in agile, project management, or related field.
- Experience with different mission areas like electronic warfare (EW); space domain awareness (SDA); intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR); command and control (C2); satellite communications (SATCOM) or space data transport; position, navigation, and timing (PNT); and, missile warning missile tracking (MW/MT).
- Familiarity with agile, MBSE, digital engineering, or related discipline.
- Active Top Secret security clearance with SCI access and/or SAP/SAR access.
