Position Overview

QTEC Aerospace is in search of a Systems Engineering Specialist to become a vital member of our professional team. The selected candidate will collaborate with both industry and governmental entities in support of a Missile Defense System (MDS), dedicated to safeguarding the United States and its allies. We seek individuals who are meticulous, possess a strong work ethic, and have a proven history of success.

Role Summary

We are looking for highly skilled and driven professionals. The chosen candidate will play a crucial role within a multi-contractor team, providing programmatic, engineering, and technical assistance to Missile Defense initiatives. This role requires on-site presence.

Key Responsibilities

The responsibilities of this position will encompass, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Develop use cases and prepare systems engineering documentation, including the definition of Epics and Features for program Cross-Functional Product Teams to fulfill customer requirements.
  • Assist in the creation and evaluation of interface documents, system requirements, Verification Cross Reference Matrix (VCRM) development, architectural documentation, and system engineering estimates, while conducting formal and informal engineering reviews.
  • Provide guidance in use case development to junior systems engineering team members to enhance their skills.
  • Review technical product content and details, serving as a technical liaison to MDA working-level counterparts as needed.
Education and Experience Requirements
  • A Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 9 years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree with at least 7 years of experience, or equivalent qualifications.
Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Ability to collaborate within an integrated team tasked with developing and maintaining the physical, functional, and technical requirements baselines essential for an evolving MDS system.
  • Demonstrated expertise in mission analysis, including the development of use cases, sequence diagrams, and SysML modeling to support Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE).
  • Proficiency in generating system/element level functional, performance, and interface specifications to document and control the achievement of desired capabilities.
  • Experience in requirements elicitation, derivation, and decomposition to lower-level subsystems and components.
  • Familiarity with maintaining system and component baselines within a requirements management system.
  • Experience in defining relationships between internal and external components.
  • Ability to communicate system-level use cases and associated Epics and Feature relationships to a diverse audience, including customers, developers, engineers, and subject matter experts.
  • Flexibility to support various tasks on short notice.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and prepare presentations as required.
  • Self-motivated with the capability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Experience with Agile methodologies and Epic and Feature definition.
  • Skills in logical architecture modeling, interface definition, and knowledge of cybersecurity concepts and security accreditation.
  • Experience in the Space Domain and with Missile Defense Systems.
  • Active DoD M IAT Level II (Security+ or equivalent) with Continuing Education (CE).
Security Clearance Requirements

Candidates must possess a minimum DoD SECRET level security clearance and have the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD TOP SECRET/SCI level security clearance.

Compensation Range

$160,000 - $224,000

Employees may qualify for a discretionary bonus in addition to base salary. Annual bonuses are designed to recognize individual contributions and allow employees to share in company performance.
