The Information Systems and Cyber Division (ISCD) integrates cutting-edge information system technologies, including elastic compute clouds, containerization, microservices, real-time operating systems, and visualization frameworks, with specialized knowledge in cybersecurity, software architecture, software engineering, data science, artificial intelligence, process enhancement, and software development. Position Overview

As an Engineering Specialist or Senior Engineering Specialist within the C3 Engineering and Operations Department, you will focus on the application of advanced technologies to provide operationally-driven engineering solutions for space enterprise C3 systems, missions, and processes. Your expertise will contribute to operational command and control (C2) for upcoming systems, influence future investments in electronic warfare, space data transport, command and control, and missile warning systems, and deliver systems engineering support for mission and C2 system development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Delivering C2 planning and course of action (COA) development expertise aligned with current Joint Warfighting Concept and Adaptive Planning processes.
  • Utilizing strategic directives to inform and synchronize planning efforts with Space Test and Training Command (STARCOM) and Space Force.
  • Providing C2 planning expertise for training initiatives, ensuring adversary performance is accounted for.
  • Designing and advocating for optimized C2 frameworks and data processes for US Space Command and US Space Force capabilities.
  • Supporting rapid prototyping strategies aligned with key priorities through technical, operational, and risk assessments.
  • Collaborating across mission and program boundaries to identify shared challenges and risks, offering enterprise-level recommendations.
  • Acting as a C2 subject matter expert within multidisciplinary teams.
  • Contributing as a key technical member on space prototype/system readiness review teams, providing unbiased technical assessments.
  • Engaging effectively with internal and external partners in integrated product teams, including government and industry stakeholders.
  • Communicating technical issues, analysis reports, and recommendations clearly to customers and management.

Qualifications for Engineering Specialist

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, mathematics, or a technical science from an accredited institution.
  • A minimum of 8 years of relevant experience, including a background as a space operator.
  • Experience in space-related command and control, operational planning, or battle management.
  • Familiarity with operating or developing BMC2 systems.
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Active Secret security clearance; eligibility for Top Secret SCI and SAP/SAR is required.
  • Willingness to travel approximately 20% of the time.

Additional Qualifications for Senior Engineering Specialist

  • At least 12 years of relevant experience.
  • A proven blend of operational, technical, and leadership experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree in engineering, mathematics, or a technical science from an accredited institution.
  • Experience in leading or integrating modeling and simulation capabilities for training and exercise events.
  • Weapons School graduate status.
  • Joint Planning experience with a Combatant Command J3/5 or Joint Staff J3/5.
  • Certification in agile, project management, or a related field.
  • Experience across various mission areas, including electronic warfare, space domain awareness, ISR, C2, SATCOM, PNT, and missile warning.
  • Familiarity with agile methodologies, MBSE, digital engineering, or related disciplines.
  • Active Top Secret security clearance with SCI access and/or SAP/SAR access.
