Manufacturing Planner/Scheduler II

Position Summary:
The Manufacturing Planner/Scheduler II is tasked with overseeing the planning and scheduling of all production facets. This role involves leading planning assignments and analyzing data to establish the most cost-effective and optimal production schedule that can be executed successfully. Individuals in this position are expected to lead projects and make decisions with minimal supervision, driving continuous process improvements to enhance key metrics such as On-Time In-Full (OTIF), backorder levels, schedule attainment, and utilization rates. Strong analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills are essential. Key Responsibilities:
Manage key performance indicators, including on-time delivery and maintaining safety stock levels for products and internal raw material shortages. Exhibit excellent oral and written communication skills for the preparation and presentation of planning reports and projects. Assist in the timely and accurate planning of material requirements to support the Master Production Schedule (MPS). Plan, schedule, and monitor the movement of materials throughout the production cycle to ensure on-time delivery. Coordinate new product introductions as assigned. Provide management with input for rescheduling in response to design changes, labor and material shortages, backlogs, and other potential scheduling interruptions. Manage multiple projects or issues simultaneously, facilitating or leading with minimal supervision. Employ creative problem-solving skills to gather relevant information for resolving less-defined planning challenges. Identify goals, review and update supervisors throughout the year, and complete performance management documentation. Implement changes to material masters, product structures, Bills of Materials (BOMs), and routers into the production process as necessary. Recalculate orders and requirements as needed by analyzing demand trends, lead time changes, minimum order quantities, standard batch sizes, and safety stock levels. Follow up on open orders and partial shipments, expediting as required. Collaborate effectively with external departments to resolve issues. Proactively communicate inventory stock level risks to marketing and present findings during SIOP meetings. Analyze root causes of stockouts and collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement corrective and preventive measures. Maintain knowledge of ISO/FDA, GMP, ISO regulations, and other regulatory requirements for diagnostics manufacturing. Control all documentation related to the operations planning function, including backlog reports, lead-time analysis, shop floor orders, delivery performance, daily production status, and shortage reports. Manage replenishment levels for applicable safety stocking programs. Key areas also include evaluating capacity requirements, monitoring production readiness and material availability, and supporting activities related to MRP system maintenance. Understand and implement relevant company and departmental policies and procedures. Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain management, data science, or equivalent relevant experience. A minimum of 2 years of experience in planning and scheduling or related fields. Proficiency in ERP systems, particularly SAP. Ability to recognize problems, analyze situations, recommend solutions, and drive continuous improvements to completion. Strong knowledge of production planning, with attention to detail, creativity, robust analytical skills, and excellent organizational and time management abilities. Ensure compliance with corporate, site, and regulatory policies, practices, and guidelines. Possess project management, interpersonal, and communication skills. Ability to adapt to changing priorities and meet impending deadlines. Demonstrated knowledge of ISO/FDA, GMP, ISO regulations, and other regulatory requirements for diagnostics manufacturing. OSHA safety compliance is required. Highly responsive to both internal and external customers. Strong capability in collaborating with all organizational levels to meet requirements. Ability to draft reports, business correspondence, and standard operating procedures. Collaborate to implement improvements and cost-saving measures in a timely manner. Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with SAP, Oracle, or other ERP systems. Work Schedule: M-F 8am-5pm, with potential for mandatory overtime.
